Our insoles are designed in Bend, Oregon & handcrafted in Portugal.
Cork is 100 percent sustainable & 100 percent awesome. We use cork in place of petroleum-based plastic and EVA that many brands use. For more information about cork, you can read about Tread & Butter’s commitment to sustainability.
Our insoles are designed for performance. Meaning, our insoles are perfect for running, hiking, skiing, etc. And equally great for standing, working on your feet, retail, waiting tables, commuting, etc.
Tread & Butter insoles come in whole sizes for women and men. If you typically wear a half size shoe, we recommend rounding up to the nearest size.
Please consider the type of footwear you will be using with your Tread & Butter insoles. Performance & athletic footwear (running, hiking, sneakers, etc) generally fit slightly bigger and can accommodate our insoles. Some dress and casual shoes (slip ons, loafers, boots, etc) tend to fit a bit smaller and might be difficult to fit with our insoles, or any other aftermarket insole. Questions: please contact us.
Shorts answer: yes. In most performance footwear like running shoes, hiking boots and sneakers, our insoles are plug-and-play - it probably won't be necessary to do any trimming. If you must, the key is to use a sharp pair of scissors and trim around the toe area only. We suggest you trim a little bit at a time and try them on for size (obviously cutting too much is not good). You can trim a little more if necessary. Tread & Butter insoles are guaranteed to feel great on your feet. If you are unsatisfied with your insoles for any reason, please contact us within 30 days for a full refund or exchange.
We offer free domestic returns and exchanges for 30 days on items purchased at treadandbutter.com or at a Tread & Butter pop up store. For Tread & Butter insoles purchased at one of our retail partner stores, please contact the store directly to make your return.
Cork is 100 percent sustainable. More specifically, cork is all natural, a carbon sink, and in our case, we use cork in our insoles where many competitive brands use petroleum-based plastic.
